AUGUST 3, 2011

We're very excited to present our latest place-based feature mix series, a Tokyo State of Mind.  In conjunction with the Rhythm Incursions podcast crew, we're supporting the Nihon Kizuna compilation with these sets.

Nihon Kizuna is a collection of tracks by artists and labels from around the world, assembled in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami that devestated northern Japan on March 11. Organized by the faces behind Rhythm Incursions (Laurent Fintoni, XLII, Broken Haze, and Audace), the comp has so far raised over $30,000 for the Japanese Red Cross. The roster of artists and labels that participated is a who's who of global electronic music, from Kode 9, Illum Sphere and Om Unit to All City, Circulation Records and Ninjatune.  You can cop it at Bandcamp and iTunes for $10, with all proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross. A bonus compilation, featuring an additional 30 tracks is also available for free or pay-what-you-want on Bandcamp.

The Tokyo State of Mind series is comprised of 4 sets recorded live at the Nihon Kizuna release parties in Tokyo.  If you dig what you're hearing in this series, please consider checking out the compilation; while reconstruction efforts in the area affected by the March earthquake are underway, many people still continue to need help.

The first set, Himuro Yoshiteru - Live from Tokyo, is a slice of idm, glitch and dubstep from one of the hottest producers in the Tokyo underground. Check it here...
