JANUARY 28, 2010

A couple weeks back, our friend Ezekiel Honig stopped by the lab for a short chat about music, Anticipate Recordings and his participation in this year's Unsound Festival NYC. With an upcoming live release compiling performances from his recent, brief European tour, an Anticipate Recordings showcase and heading a panel on Electronic Music at Unsound Festival NYC, 2010 is panning out to be a busy year for Zeke. Following amazing audio/visual DVD releases on Anticipate Recordings from Morgan Packard / Joshue Ott and Mark Templeton / aAron Munson, 2010 may even be the year we finally see an Ezekiel Honig & Joshue Ott collaboration released.

You can check out the interview here...

For the uninitiated, Joshue Ott is one of the most facinating visual live performers we've seen in the past decade. With his custom made SuperDraw software, Josh creates pulsating swathes of color and light all perfectly synched to a paired musician's tempo and timbre. If you ever have an opportunity to see him perform, don't pass it up.

Here's a brief clip of Joshue Ott & Ezekiel Honig performing together at Monkey Town (RIP) in Brooklyn, NY.

We've got a couple of essential live sets from Ezekiel Honig on Percussion Lab already (including his performance from Mutek 2009) - get a taste of his upcoming live release right here...

Also, Percussion Lab Contributor, Headphone Commute recently uploaded their "Random Noise Ballads Vol3" mix by Anticipate Recording's Klimek. His recent release is one of our favorites from 2009 - strongly recommended.
